Henne, Gans & Co. Felt workshop

The studio in Risemark features a selection of handmade felt works made from wool from live sheep from Ærø and Denmark. Karin Falter has worked as a felt maker in her own studio since 2008, and came to Ærø in 2022 to continue her work.

Here are handmade sheepskins of sheared fleece, held together with a special felting technique. The raw wool of the island sheep is only processed by hand with soap and water without any other additives or chemicals. Karin's sheep continue to graze so they can produce a new fleece every year. Because the wool is treated naturally, it feels completely unique.
